FROM ROSES REJECTED TO ROSE REDEFINED: JENN TRAN MAKES BACHELORETTE HISTORY

UPDATE 3/30/24: An exclusive source tells Deuxmoi "Maria had started the season but had a hard time getting through filming. They had to last minute replace her with Jen. Same guys competing for Maria are now there for Jen so it's awkward. They were literally in the process of filming when Maria quit."

On Monday, March 25th, former ‘Bachelor’ contestant Jenn Tran was publicly named the next Bachelorette. The decision makes Jenn the first-ever Asian American lead in the franchise. The news comes as quite the shock to Bachelor Nation since fan favorite Maria Georgas was rumored to be the one giving out the next bunch of ruby red roses. Reasons as to why Maria wasn’t the final choice for the role floated around the Reddit and TikTok universes, which suggests she had turned down the offer. This week, Deuxmoi received the inside scoop.

“Something did go seriously awry with Maria afterall,” our exclusive source shared. “She had the gig and freaked out apparently. It was a mutual decision for her mental health for her to step away literally days ago.” Her decision allegedly left Bachelorette producers in a bind. The source continued, “It was a scramble to pull in Jenn last minute. Daisy Kent also turned it down. The cast isn’t skewed for Jenn at all so it’s a bit of a cluster.”

Despite the change of plans, this upcoming season is sure to be full of fireworks with Jenn Tran at the helm. Get your roses ready, Bachelor Nation!
