Despite paparazzi shots and reports that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were on target for another chance at love, they are never getting back together – like, ever.

The rumor mill began working overtime on Ben and Jen’s second chance at love when Ben was spotted embracing his ex-wife in a cozy hug at their youngest son’s paintball-centric birthday party on Oscar Sunday. The vibes appeared very friendly, but honestly, can’t two co-parents just be happy to celebrate their child’s birthday in peace?

While we are always rooting for a sweet romantic reunion, something tells us Ben cannot visit Ghosts of Wives Past. There’s a reason why “ex” is in the word “exit” after all…

As previously reported in the Deux/U March 6th podcast episode, Ben and Jen’s relationship is super strong right now. With three kids and over a decade of marriage under their belts, they have had their fair share of history–the good, the bad, and the thou shalt never be discussed. The fact that they remain a great support system for their kids shows how much they care about their family through thick and thin.

In terms of their respective relationship statuses, Jen is still believed to be dating long-term love, John Miller. While we haven’t seen any photos of them lately, that should not lead anyone to drastic conclusions. Eagle eyes have been relatively quiet on Ben’s current dating situation, but we can imagine he’s casually dating someone(s) or at least looking.
