The love! The ring! The lyrics! What more could we want for Taylor Swift?
After Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement in late August, the internet went abuzz with wedding whispers. Just when and where would America's sweethearts be saying “I do?” Despite claims pointing toward a June 2026 wedding in Rhode Island, it would appear that Swift is taking her nuptials elsewhere….perhaps with a passport required?
Ahead of album promo for the newly released, The Life of A Showgirl, fans and the likes began conjecturing just when she would marry her fiance. As discussed on Deux/U’s October 2nd podcast episode, there has been much speculation surrounding a summer wedding date at the posh Ocean House in Watch Hill, Westerly, Rhode Island, just a stone’s throw from Swift’s oceanside estate.
So the story goes, an engaged couple allegedly booked the dreamy resort for their nuptials on Saturday, June 13th, 2026. Looking to snag the date, a powerful figure proposed for the bride and groom to move their wedding weekend, offering to pay for the wedding and honeymoon–alongside signing a slew of NDAs. Heard through the grapevine, a source told Deuxmoi that this bride “did get NDAs she had to sign.” Given Swift’s affinity for discretion, numerology (13!), and Rhode Island, internet sleuths put two and two together, attempting to confirm the hearsay. And TikTok won’t stop spreading the urban legend either. Intensifying the ambiguous situation, it’s nearly impossible to book a room during this specific weekend. Hopping onto the booking site, the only availability lies within The Cottage Collection. Hint: lavish, spacious on-property houses worth a pretty penny.
Regardless of these potential Easter Eggs, the "signs" are just not quite adding up for us. However, in true Swift-coded nature, they could act as red herrings to disarm the public. Maybe it’s for their engagement party? Perhaps she rented the property for her guests? Alternatively, there could be another billionaire who has been eyeing the resort for whatever reason. Appearing on BBC’s Radio 1 with Greg James, the presenter inquired whether Swift and Kelce’s extravaganza will be a destination wedding. Her response? “I am going to let you know at a different time.”
Long story short: the jury is still out, but Rhode Island is on someone’s wi$hli$t…
