Their “Frozen Love” might be slowly thawing after all…
Despite years of tension brewing between former bandmates (and exes) Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, the musical geniuses have reached a pact of sorts. As revealed on Nicks’ and Buckingham’s Instagram accounts earlier this week, their first and only album, Buckingham Nicks, will be re-released on September 19th.
Without getting into the thick of the duo’s tumultuous drama, Nicks and Buckingham dated during their early years (think 1970s) of their time as a duo and in the chart-topping rock band, Fleetwood Mac. However, this breakup was not wrapped up in a pretty, PR-orchestrated bow–more like a landslide of loss, love, and disappointment. Decades later, the dissent erupted in full-blown flames when Buckingham was expelled from the group in 2018. As to be expected, Nicks and Buckingham were not interacting (on social media or the likes) until recently. Both parties posted cryptic lyrics to their hit song, “Crying in the Night” on July 17th, followed by a billboard in Los Angeles and the official announcement less than a week later.
One of Deuxmoi’s sources hinted about this news in a blind item back in March. The source said that a “75 and 76-year-old rockstar ex-couple will be finally reuniting, due to anew album announcement.” This same source recently followed up on their previous tea, alleging that “this is not [about] them dating or anything crazy like that this is about them being on speaking terms.” In terms of a “reunion,” the source alleged that the once couple “spoke [and] met up. ”Although future romantic escapades are totally out of the question, the source added that “a Lindsey feature on Stevie’s new album” is “possible.”
Buckingham Nicks, originally released in vinyl circa 1973, will be distributed to physical and digital retailers next month, allowing everyone to finally have a piece of music history. While an outright reconciliation is not imminent, the re-release is a step in the right direction, for fans and hopeless romantics alike.
BRB, pre-saving the album now.
