WHERE DID THESE ONCE-BELOVED CELEBS DISAPPEAR TO?

Once upon a time, they plastered the covers of magazines and TV screens. These days, names like JTT and Andrew Keegan might ring a different bell than at the height of their fame. One of our reader asked us to publish a 'where are they now' segment so we polled the audience on who they are most interested in learning about and these are some of their answers.

Alexa Demie

Though she's kept a low profile since Euphoria's sophomore season (2022) —with impatient fans fearing season three is a pipe dream — Demie has since reunited with controversial creator Sam Levinson for a cameo in 2023's The Idol and this year guest starred in Fantasmas.

Ali Larter

Known for Final Destination, Heroes (2006-10) and the Resident Evil films (2007-16), Larter's biggest role in recent years was that of Grace Sawyer in The Rookie (2019-20).She also appeared in 10 episodes each of Legends (2014) and Pitch (2016).

Andrew Keegan

Since a recurring role on 7th Heaven (1997-2004) and the pretty boy that threatened to come between JGL and the whelmed girl of his dreams in 10 Things I Hate About You in '99, Keegan's most well-known gig was in 2014, when he founded spiritual group (and rumored cult) Full Circle, which authorities raided the following year over illegal kombucha.

Annalynne McCord

After her 90210 tenure ended (2013), McCord landed a recurring role on another reboot, Dallas (2014), as well as in 2016's The Night Shift, Power Book III: Raising Kanan (2021-22), and, also in 2022, went viral with a poem imagining herself as Vladimir Putin's mother.

Clive Owen

Since Closer (2004) and Children of Men (2006), Owen, who also appeared in Lisey's Story, starred as Bill Clinton in the 2021 American Crime Story installment, Steven Soderbergh's medical series, The Knick (2014-15), and A Murder at the End of the World (2023).This year, he led and executive produced neo-noir Monsieur Spade.

Hayden Christensen

After the Star Wars prequel films in the early aughts, Christensen took amore than decade-long break from a galaxy far, far away, with stopovers in 2008's Jumper, and widely panned flicks like Takers (2010) and Little Italy (2018). He ultimately picked up his lightsaber again for 2019's The Rise of Skywalker as well as Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022) and Ahsoka (2023).

Hugh Laurie

After hanging up Dr. House's stethoscope and snark in 2012, Laurie had a recurring role on Veep (2015-19), and since 2016, starred in miniseries adaptations of The Night Manager, Catch-22, and Netflix's 2023 take on World War II drama, All the Light We Cannot See.

Janeane Garofalo

After Wet Hot American Summer (2001), the comedian acted in Pixar's 2007 fave Ratatouille, and boasted multi-episode arcs on The West Wing (2005-06), 24 (2009), Broad City (2014-19), both Wet Hot American Summer spin-off series in 2015 and 2017, and Younger (2021).

Johnny Simmons

The Jennifer's Body (2009) actor starred in Netflix's Girlboss (2017) and last year, reprised his Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) role for the Scott Pilgrim Takes Off miniseries.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers

Meyers' acclaimed reign in The Tudors (2007-10) and was followed by multiple alcohol-related disputes and a 2020 DUI. On-screen though, he starred in a reimagining of Dracula (2013-14), Vikings (2017-19), and lesser-known flicks like 2023's Ambush and Mercy.

Jonathan Taylor Thomas

JTT hasn't been in much since his days on 90s copies of Bop, but after Home Improvement wrapped ('98), young Simba himself appeared in multiple episodes of The Wild Thornberrys (2000-01),Smallville (2002-04) and Last Man Standing (2013-15) — the last of which reunited Thomas with his Home Improvement dad, Tim Allen.

Lara Flynn Boyle

After Twin Peaks ended (1991), Boyle appeared in 1992's Wayne's World, Men in Black II a decade later, and an Emmy-nominated run in The Practice (1997-2003). Last year, Boyle appeared in Mother Couch alongside Ewan McGregor and Taylor Russell.

Leelee Sobieski

The Never Been Kissed (1999) and Joy Ride (2001) actress-turned-painter and sculptor appeared in '06's Wicker Man remake and 2007's 88 Minutes, with Nicolas Cage and Al Pacino, respectively, before starring in the 2012 procedural, NYC 22. After retiring from acting that year, Sobieski's first solo exhibition was reviewed by Vogue in 2018.

Marcia Cross

Cross' most notable post-Desperate Housewives (2004-12) role was probably her 15-episode run as President Claire Haas on Quantico (2015-17). She also guest starred on Law & Order: SVU (2015), and appeared in multiple episodes of You (2021) and Susan Sarandon's short-lived 2022 musical drama Monarch.

Michael Pitt

Since ending a two-dozen arc on Boardwalk Empire (2011), Pitt's appeared in a trio of 2014 Hannibal episodes, the controversial Ghost in the Shell remake (2017), Lisey's Story (2021), and, last year, Netflix's Reptile.

Michelle Trachtenberg

Since waving goodbye to Gossip Girl in 2012, the Buffy veteran lent her voice to Robot Chicken for multiple roles (2006-18), as well as Human Kind Of ('18) before briefly reprising the role of Georgina in the Gossip Girl reboot (2022-23).

Taron Egerton

The Eddie the Eagle star's flown slightly under the radar since his run in the Kingsman films (2014, 2017), and his Golden Globe-nominated turn in Rocketman (2019),but came back with a bang in 2022's true crime drama, Black Bird, which earned him an Emmy nomination.

Tate Donovan

Since voicing Hercules (1997) and starring in Damages until 2010, Donovan's appeared in awards favorites — from 2012's Argo and 2016's Manchester by the Sea to the 2019 Elton John biopic Rocketman, and 2023's The Holdovers. Since 2014, he's also had recurring roles in 24: Live Another Day,The Man in the High Castle, and a dozen episodes of the MacGyver reboot between 2018-2020.

Thora Birch

Birch's filmography has been spotty in recent years, following her American Beauty (1999) and Ghost World (2001) success. After an Emmy nom for 2003's Homeless to Harvard, Birch had a recurring role in The Walking Dead (2019-20) and moved behind the camera with the 2022 TV movie, The Gabby Petito Story.
