You’ve probably heard it through the grapevine that the world-famous Napa Valley wine region in Northern California is ripe with celebrity visitors. But with hundreds of award-winning wine tasting rooms, Michelin-starred restaurants, and refined rustic resorts to pick from, pouring over which ones are the most buzzworthy can be more exhausting than trying to accomplish anything after day-drinking some Sauvy B.
On that note, we quote Carrie Bradshaw to say, “if you’re tired, you take a napa”—and then let Deuxmoi do the planning so your wine country getaway feels like the perfect pairing of Hollywood and vines.
CELEBRITY FREQUENTED HOTELS IN NAPA:
STANLY RANCH, AUBERGE RESORTS COLLECTION
Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber think Stanly Ranch is so nice, they’ve been here twice: One time to attend a friend’s wedding where Kendall Jenner was also a guest, and another for a mini babymoon in July 2024 before their son Jack Blues Bieber was born the next month. The parents-to-be were spotted relaxing on one of the sprawling property’s communal outdoor couches. Courteney Cox has also checked in to this five-star resort, which doubles as a working ranch, and is known for its friendly atmosphere thanks to a large open layout that’s focused on indoor-outdoor living. With a variety of onsite experiences that include creating a custom perfume from rare botanicals (a la Deuxmoi Plage, perhaps?), making fresh pasta, and even learning the ancient art of falconry, there are plenty of unique experiences to try during a stay here no matter your palate.
If the aforementioned Stanly Ranch is the newer, family-friendly, and more accessible option from the Auberge Resort brand in Napa, then consider Auberge du Soleil the hotel chain’s well-established, adults-only, exclusive destination in the area. There are only 50 residential-style suites on site, so the vibe is intimate and private. Celebrities who’ve dropped by to take in the panoramic views of the valley or savor a multi-course Mediterranean meal at The Restaurant at Auberge du Soleil (which has been awarded 17 consecutive Michelin stars) include Jessica Lowndes, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Maria Sharapova, and Lea Michele, who drank red wine here with Katharine McPhee.
Tucked away in the wooded hillsides of wine country is the discreet Meadowood Napa Valley resort, a 250-acre estate that emphasizes a connection to nature through its hiking trails, five pristine tennis courts, and three immaculate pools. Bella Twins Brie and Nikki Garcia, who moved to Napa and now run the Bonita Bonita Wine brand, have enjoyed “delicious margaritas” and “yummy food” when lounging in a cabana here, whereas Candace Cameron Bure visited with family and friends to celebrate her 40th birthday. While grabbing a casual breakfast at the resort’s cheerfully-decorated restaurant Forum, we even spotted Oprah’s favorite English muffins on the menu—they’re made at The Model Bakery, which has a location just two miles away.
CELEBRITY FREQUENTED RESTAURANTS IN NAPA:
Plenty of celebrities get starstruck by The French Laundry restaurant (and its celebrity chef Thomas Keller), and the proof is in the obligatory Instagram posts from inside its kitchen because, pictures or it didn’t happen. This three Michelin-starred upscale French eatery boasts a, well, laundry list of famous former guests: Machine Gun Kelly, Megan Fox, Dylan Arnold, Guy Fieri, Blake Lively, Hugh Jackman, Ludacris, Chrissy Teigen, John Legend, Sam Smith, Whitney Port, Marion Cotillard, Karrueche Tran, Anthony Anderson, Billie Lourd, LeAnn Rimes, Eddie Cibrian—Shall we go on? Maybe just keep refreshing the Deuxmoi World app for the latest sightings, as there’s no sign that Sunday Spotteds at this historic restaurant and its gorgeous garden right across the road are slowing down anytime soon.
FARMSTEAD AT LONG MEADOW RANCH
After Adele had a belated birthday meal with Rich Paul at Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch back in May 2022, we knew this organic, farm-to-table, American restaurant’s celebrity clientele was rolling (in the) deep, so we just had to add it to our curated roundup of culinary hotspots. Case in point? The modern farmhouse-style venue has gotten the approval of famous Napa residents such as Tamera Mowry as well as repeat wine country visitors like Tiffani Thiessen. Beyond the popular restaurant, the ranch boasts a wine bar, tasting room, and garden lounge that’s great for hosting weddings and events.
The perfect celebrity-approved pit stop between wine tastings has got to be Gott’s Roadside, a casual counter walk-up restaurant that serves classic American fare from burgers to chicken tendies and of course, a side of fries. Proving our point that it’s a favorite of the famous, we actually spotted country singer Thomas Rhett enjoying a beer during lunch with his wife while we were at the St. Helena location deuxing research for this article. The diner also counts Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker as fans, and Jackson Rathbone declared its western bacon blue ring cheeseburger the "best burger I’ve ever eaten.”
CELEBRITY FREQUENTED WINERIES IN NAPA:
PIAZZA DEL DOTTO WINERY & CAVES
No Napa travel guide would be complete without some wineries, and Piazza Del Dotto Winery & Caves is one that serves a generous pour of star power. The Italian-inspired establishment is best known for its special wine tasting experience inside a marble cave, which was featured on an episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” and is where Kylie Jenner reportedly had her very first wine tasting (ever!) with Kris Jenner and Khloe Kardashian along for the milestone. Eric and Jessie James Decker have also had barrels of fun while sipping on wine at this reservations-only swanky estate.
To add some variety to your flight of Napa wineries, just turn to Turnbull Wine Cellars. The chill, smaller-scale—yet still upscale—full-service vineyard is proud of its entirely in-house wine-producing process, from “dirt to bottle.” That level of sustainability and authenticity is what helped this place earn an endorsement from Gwyneth Paltrow, who took in the vineyard view while treating herself to a red wine tasting.
